Emigrating from his native Sicily, Sebastiano LoCurto settled into the U.S. in the 1950’s. When he first arrived he began working as a butcher by day, and truck driver at night, carting all the meat to the store to begin cutting the next morning. Day & Night he would do this routine for several years, before deciding to venture out on his own. Even as he opened his first butcher shop in Queens, he continued to personally go into the meat market at night and hand select the meat that was to be used. He was picky about what he would sell his customers; hence he built a reputation for carrying only the best and freshest cuts of meat available.
His hard work and ambition warranted opening several stores in the
Bronx and Queens. As times changed, he expanded into deli meats &
cheeses, produce, along with a complete line of fine grocery and
dairy items. The only thing that time didn’t change was his
persistence on using the finest quality, at the best possible value
to the consumer.
Today, his son Pat operates Pat's Meat Farms. He is committed to maintaining
the same standard of Quality and service that his father Sebastiano
taught him was necessary to succeed. There are 2 locations, one in
Farmingdale and the other in Northport. Pat also owns and operates Sebastiano's
Caterers, another business that has flourished because of their
insistence to Quality and service.
